Ales, Artefacts and Archaeology at the Salty Dog
Six mad months of Northwich Uncovered. One evening to celebrate it all!
Join us for a 45 minute informal chat celebrating the story behind Northwich Uncovered, exploring Northwich's Roman and early medieval history, and sharing what we've been discovering through archaeology over the last six months.
All fuelled, naturally, by some of the finest beer in Northwich's ale heaven.
But that's not all…
We'll have a display of artefacts recovered from our archaeological digs, plus a chance to see a rare personal collection of Northwich finds that genuinely has to be seen to be believed.
If you love local history, Roman archaeology, unusual artefacts or simply a good story over a decent pint, this is one evening you won't want to miss.
Come and celebrate six mad months of digging, discoveries, and bringing Northwich's past back to life.
Northwich Uncovered: six months down, plenty more to uncover!

Northwich Uncovered
Northwich Uncovered is a community archaeology project exploring the hidden history of Northwich and the surrounding area.
We bring archaeology out of museums and into the community, working with volunteers, local organisations and residents to discover, investigate and share the stories beneath our feet.
From Roman archaeology and local history to finds, research and future heritage projects, our aim is simple: to uncover Northwich’s past and make it accessible to the people who live here.
Our first community excavation has already uncovered some fascinating finds — and this is only the beginning.
